yeah, we should fight eachother.
At least I really want to fight y'all.

We can use Hamachi

We can chat with skype

We can use Meteor 2.

If you have alternate suggestions, let me know =)

Sounds good. I'm EST (forgot the hour... again.), but almost anytime would work for me. Too bad my Hamachi is broken beyond recognition. ~X(

I'm GMT+1. Same for PetiX

EDIT: Oh and what about we just meet up on the irc instead of on Skype? It's really easier that way for most of us for various circumstances.

skype has voice, and can run in the background of meteor 2, whereas irc chat would require everyone to be out of meteor, or have 2 computers to chat.
Because of meteor 2's instability in multiplayer, we'll need to keep in contact in game.

Does everyone have 2 computers?

also, what maps should we play?

@me_mantis[keens]

Counter arguments on the Skype thing:
- PetiX doesn't have Skype and he doesn't really bother installing it since the voice stuff would take way too much of his (very low) bandwidth... I mean, unless he plays at the right hour, he already lags in Doom even without any background traffic. So he needs to spare all bw he can.
- arezey also has low bandwidth. Doom is fine but with Skype he might lag
- I have Telenet, which has 19.09 mbit per second (really fast), yet Skype isn't a good idea for me since I ss off to Telenet)
- arezey, Archfile and Spy are almost "by default" on the irc. So if we'd chat there they wouldn't even have to bother actively meeting up.
- James implemented an ingame chat feature for something :p

About the maps:
Regular meteor is fine for me. But the RealWeapons mod would be nice to have, I always found that mod not only more realistic but also more balanced qua weapons.
What about we'd also try RoT?

Good call on voip.

I've had lots of problems connecting in Ravagers of Time, because there are thousands of objects, and there is some sorta glitch with that. Basically, you get kicked between 5-10 times before you spawn, and to spawn you've gotta hit space about 200 times. Sometimes you can't join at all.

I'm not familiar with real weapons, but we could probably give it a try.

I've also got RTSS, and that's pretty fun with lots of people if you all know how it works.

Is there a thread on here on how to get on irc? I'm not an irc user.

I once tried rtss but it was glitchy for player 2 iirc (or just anyone except player 1 I think). But I guess you know how to solve that then? In any case it would be really nice cause yea I find rtss a really really nice mod but due to all these MP glitches in Meteor 2 it doesn't quite work... >.<

To get on the irc I'd recommend ChatZilla addon if you're a firefox user.. alternatively, download a client like mIRC or KvIrc.
Next, run your client and enter:
/join #mpsf
Or if your browser associated irc:// protocol with your client, just click here

EDIT: By the way, arezey is also GMT+2.

I'm up for basically any time any date.
The irc stuff works for me, as does having 5 computers. =P

There were serious issues with RTSS, but I've fixed those; mainly the spawning. I've played it for about 20 hours with no crashes 1v1, and I've played with no crashes 2v2 over hamachi. I think the current stable release is online now. I've been tweaking it to make it more fun, and set up timed events instead of instant build.

I also have a version of it where I modded all the weapons so they have scope and non- scope versions shoot farther, and do more damage... it's pretty sweet, but it's different, so I wouldn't expect y'all to want to play it with unfamiliar weapons.

I do have a minigame version of Ravagers of Time set up for multiplayer that might be fun, but it does have bugs I haven't fixed yet, and crashes.

I think we should test out online stuff whenever we feel like it or connect on IRC, and have a real date for the real showdown.

It happened!

We had some issues connecting, but after we sorted it out, and all the players knew we were playing RTSS3 it all worked.

Spy connected directly to my pc via IP
Parasait connected through Hamachi
JamesE (a bro of mine) connected through my network

It all worked pretty smoothly.
I played nice though, because I didn't want to hurt anybody's feelings.
I did blow up Parasait with a heat seeking rocket, and that was pretty classy.

Mmm... well I just thought "Hey what is that funny thingy over there?" and I decided to take a closer look. Wouldn't have happened otherwise. :p

@The screenshot
Lol. Spy, you little megalomaniac. :D

Anyway, I found it pretty fun. Finally an rtss game where I didn't play against myself. It's just too bad that it lagged so much and the game easily started bugging.
