It would be cool if you made a chatroom on the site. Then we could talk about meteor and or other subject whitout posting it in the forum. Importent messages should be posted in the forum though. Mod_Maker Edit: I have terrible login probs, the icons cant be changed and i cant "edit profile". Eneyway where did that fancy green blob icon go? My server company does not allow me to use IRC, I could perhaps code something up but it may be best to use a chat room feature that someone else already has. Does anybody know of a site that offers this? You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

Chat rooms are becoming very taboo right now. Its a shame because a Meteor chat facility would really help people work with the game. I don't know if I can officially host/use any kind of chat facility. You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

there is a way that you can have a "chat style" posting interface. I saw a good example at ufoot.org a while ago that had to be refreshed to see what other people said, and denoted users by their ip address(not the best idea). I sould have copied the page, but I didn't, and not it seems to be gone. You may still be able to contact the page owner for how to make a page like this. The best Game on the site is Liquid war, and I would recommend playing it while waiting for Meteor 2 You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

Technically speaking a chat interface would not be a problem. I could knock a simple ASP interface which hooks into the forums system. There are 2 concerns. 1) Whether or not I am able to host chat room of this nature on my server (I need to check the TOS and license stuff). 2) Whether having a chat system would remove valulable content from the forums. IRC = Internet Relay Chat (i think?) Also, these forums are made by JB, aka he coded this himself, so technically this is a JBserver board Ive got an idea that *might* work out. How about have a chat server hosted in a 3rd party program (most free programs allow you to make a free server running from your CP), or on a website, if you cant code one into this one, at the moment?
