Hello modders,

Any keen modders may like to know that M2 uses the MP3 format for music and not music modules. However you can convert music modules to MP3 using ModPlug Tracker (freeware).

MP3 for music only or for both music and other sounds?

It looks like MP3 only because the mod code requires valuable channels to be allocated for mod playback only.

M1 used half of the channels for mods and the half other half for sound fx. Therefore if a card had 32 channels then 16 were reserved for mod leaving just 16 for sounds (thats not really enough for either).

However I may be able to do some sort of mod support depending on demand.

While I see mp3s as definately the better file format, the problem I have with it is that they create a big download for those of us with dialup. Perhaps there could be a "musicless" version for download. Just a thought.

It means that you can download the music seperately if required (i.e. if you downloaded the music-less version already). Its not designed for casual listening as it will be in a compressed datafile.

The mp3 format is used w/music. People can download mp3's. (via apples itoons, napster, etc.) So if it's an mp3 format they match up so it is possible to have green bay, linkin clark, and other stuff like that on there in the game. The only thing is the games will not be original if you start adding green bay, linkin clark, etc. to the game. We should just have Meteor style music to keep the game cool. The mods via M2 format should not have songs like that on there even though it is cool to have your fave. songs on there. James, please erase mods songs with non-meteor music and on there and switch it with the real stuff.

Yes rock and pop never works in games, its used for those crappy mods that you see for other games.

You shouldnt erase someone's elses work just b/ it has modern day music on there, if you dont like it just dont download it, or make it so the game uses original music ur self. Sometimes, a good old piece of linkon park on a small 25x25 size level only ment for showing a big event in the story add some modern class to the game. Oh and BTW its "Lincoln Park" not "Lincoln Clark"

Is --------- actually censored on these fourms lol? ----! ----! ----! ------!! WOOOO!

EDIT: Apparently not.... awwww i wanted to have some fun =(
