Right lets clear things up before they get out of hand. Here is the best way to leak video... 1) Record it using a camcorder and shrink it down to 10 megs to make it look crummy. 2) Create a fake user account (something like Hackinator). 3) Post a link in the official forums to the video on a friends server. So OK I admit it, this video is an official plant (me and mantis faked it). It is quite safe to open the link and watch the video. It does not contain any dodgy material or viruses. Despite some peoples efforts to deter its viewing I am now in a position where I should officially endorse this video before things get out of hand. Thanks to j-space (General J) for hosting the file, luckily for him he does not have an email link on his site. Thanks to Assain for his adacity in stepping in to protect Meteor 2's interests, albeit via extreme methods. LOL, had you all, it was fun, now enjoy the video. #1. Yay! No more beans! I hated that #2. Yes, i did use "extreme" mesures, but ive seen some ppl get really PO'd at "leaked" footage, so i'd figure id try not to get ppl to whatch it. I didnt whatch more than 10 sec of it, until i thought "this is spoiling things!", but i guess that its offical its ok now  . This is the first time ive ever heard of leeked footage, ect being faked as far as a new name  #3 (@ mike). You would chance opening a virus encrypted file, wouldnt you ;D #4. It'll come to mind..... Hey my powerup sounds were in that video lol (notice the little reloading sounds when he picked up ammo.) And you were pretty bad at hiding the fact that you had godmode. (Firing rockets from 3ft away, getting pummeled by a barrage of pulse rays) Yep thats all i got to say.

=D I'm glad you all enjoyed that video! Lets have some numbers... #1 The video could have been better, but it a. Not looked like a leak. b. Given too much info away. #2 The video gave my friends server a chance to be useful =)(until this point it was only running a webpage that was never viewed) #3 Meteor2 is gonna blow yer socks off, and most games of the future will feel a bit like Meteor 2. #4 I've run out of things to put after numbers! The longer it stays away, the better it gets. There is now so much cool stuff in it, its unbelievible. Oh and for the record the "Has Scope" option is set in the Weapon Editor so yes you can use it on any weapon. There is also a "Has Laser" option for non-player objects (the laser comes with the scope for the player). You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

I recently gave the über cannons the scope, and laser. I played a map with 3 of them on it, and was amazed at the nice impression of being in the crosshairs. I didn't get hit, because i dodged the shells, but when i hopped aboard a bomber, I was quickly picked off. =D It will be very nice for mp games, if that ever happens. MP will come sure enough, its too good a game to miss that. I decided to forget about Meteor 1 v1.3 to get M2 done. The new turbo network code seemed to work well even on DialUp across the World. There will be no network play in v1.0 though, this will become available in a later release. Note: The scripting is great but it could prove tricky for coop mode using the original missions. A nice thought but I don't know what these are yet because I will be doing some "smart" coding to make as many as I can work in both single and multiplayer. For example in M1 coop when you get in a helicopter another helicopter waits for other players and so on. In M2 the server's script engine could determine such things and "duplicate" certain vehicles. Another common downfall of coop play is what I call "coop lockouts". Like when you play Doom and some guy goes in a room with a key, the door locks behind them and they get killed by about 5000 imps. Some M2 maps would need trigger sectors outside such areas or have timed doors. Anyway you get the idea. James You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

I think he might mean that when playing doom, and having to face 5000 imps (lol) god mode could come in handy! But of course God Mode was easily detected in that M2 footage.
