The title is a bit stretched, but I noticed a lot of people that had good ideas, responded often, had good opinions are gone.

-Agent Nightfire
-GAU-8 vs. LIFE
-FBI
-Suomolaien (now Raaka-arska)
-d00d4h
-Nillo
-Flammable Maniac
-Mod_Maker
-etc.

Now were down to only a few people:

-mike323323
-fuzinavl
-me_mantis
-Knasp
-Dave Man
-Assain
-Zable Fahr
-d34db34t
-and James (Obviously)
(If I missed anyone feel free to make a post and yell at me and tell me how much I suck and what not)

If you guys are still out there, still alive, and still playing Meteor, please respond!!

dude, I wasn't serious. Anyway, right now I'm busy grappling with the bungee-gun algorithm, my unified shrouder / lighting system, and some running-on-free-floating-platforms-that-can-move-and-spin algorithm, Wheee!

You mean that you think that meteor2 should have moving platforms that move and spin, or is this for another game?

Hey everyone, I'm still alive :-)

Sorry I haven't been posting very recently; midterm season started a few weeks ago ago and that's basically been eating away at my free time, and while it's not completely over yet, at least the work has decreased to a manageable level. Before then it was some other games (yes, blasphemous, I know) that took up my time.

I think I'll have a go at making some more M2 maps after I finish my last midterm, and hopefully by then a new version of M2 will have blessed us with its presence :-)

I thought that I should register a "hello" here. There has been a lot of work going into M2 lately (just to reassure you all).

Good to hear from you again FBI.

I'm sorta waiting for Meteor 2 to be finished, so I don't visit the forums much. Also, I'm in the middle of a really good run in ADOM, so playing Meteor is a low priority. Sorry.

Wow, I am glad I made this post! It's like a meteor family reunion lol! It's great to see that you guys are still here. I basically just made this post wondering where you guys are and of course you are here, so Im feelin pretty proud about now.

But I need to admit, I got caught playing a shareware game called Soldat. Dunno if any of you had heard of it, but it is basically all the fun of deathmatch multiplayer mayhem and no singleplayer campaign. It kinda has the lead on my favorite games, but when I get Multiplayer bots in with the scripting system, M2 will push itself back to the top. Just waiting for the completed game for it to work out.

Soldat's not bad. What other games are good / similar while I'm waiting to the next M2 release?

Yeah, soldat is freeware though, just if u wanna "upgrade" the game you can play. Fun, i installed a few graphic mods, and played, its pretty sweet ^_^. Dont play it ne more though.

Taipan Kikai (or whatever lol) is a meteor like game that has a tile like system, a "shrouding" system (like what funzivle made), VERY interesting death system :), and a GTA like 3-d tiles. The only thing i dont like about it is its lack of story, how the units/people move around and attack, the weapons, and MAINLY how the game runs and its controls. Otherwise, its pretty sweet. U can get it I THINK at errorfree.org (or *.com).

I have had "a number" of maps (I am not actually sure) but its < 10. I am doing most of the mission building, me_mantis has made a bunch of maps too.

Maps are still the number 1 timing issue.

PS: Make big maps!

Big Maps? Like how big? ;-) Is there an optimal formula for finding out how long a mission should take to play in relation to how many pixels it is? Like hight*width/units+Letters of title= number of minutes that it should take

On the subject of big maps, maybe the minimap should always be a fixed size regardless of the size of the map; most games I've played do that. This way, on big maps, turning on the minimap doesn't totally overwhelm the screen.

P.S. Is that <10 number of maps received accurate? I know I sent 3-4 maps; I feel kind of odd that it accounts for nearly 50% of the maps sent in :-)

Hello. I am here, but I got lost in school projects and homework. Everytime I have maybe, a week or so without a project of sometype, I have been givin tests and quizzes that I need to study for. Don't worry, I will try to help more in the summer, but for now I am sticking with school. Sorry for not really helping but I can't stop all the school work. Oh well, i'll guess I will try to help more. Is there any more little sound fx you need for the game? I had fun producing the other sounds.

Hehe, I have the greatest sound for someone punching somebody. If you hit a helium ballon really hard it sounds like you just hit him with a baseball bat or something. lol. Jon, remember the time we used the pool noodles and smacked them on the pool water and it sounded like someone got punched? Well, a helium ballon makes it sound like he was knocked dead.

Wow, the last thread I made was like December 7th 2004. 35 threads were made after mine. Now I haven't been here in a while.

Jon, I read the thread on how you fixed my voice. Thanks, I was gonna do it but James wanted to fix it around. He is more experienced and he probably is way better at that then I am. lol.

Good Luck, and if there is any *small* job you need, e-mail me at 30cheesemonkeys@verizon.com .........my brother made up the 30cheesemonkeys part. Now I want to switch it.

lol sorry bout that mike, but I have had problems with this site when i first heard about it, And I didn't get it online 'til james got me my account to work. I used to get so frustrated when someone would ask a question on the forums and no one knew the answer except for me, and I couldn't tell them! And Soldat provides hours of fun, especcially when you download weapon skins and mods.
