I'm looking for a paint type program that can shrink pictures real well. Any one know of one?

Go on Google and search for a program called "The Gimp". Its known as the "freeware version of photoshop". Its got everything you would ever need in any paint program plus alot more.

I use it, and ive made some pretty detailed sprites and all with it. It also handles all converting needs. It can read almost all types visual files (such as PCX) and edit them, and it can convert all the files that it can read easily and qickly into another visual file type (such as PCX).

VERY good program, although the installation is a bit more complicated than it should be (nothing to much, i did it :p)

It costs loads but they do a cheap version called.... damn I can't remember, its Photoshop "something".

You could also look at Paint Shop Pro by Jasc software, its pretty powerful but easy to use.

Other free options include IrfanView which is not really an editor as such but it does perform some editing functions (perhaps resize?).

James.

IF Gimp freezes up on the Font's loading screen thats perfectly normal. When you run Gimp for the first time, the Fonts loading screen is supposed to look like it froze up. Just let Gimp sit there for 5-10 minutes AT MOST and it will continue loading. After your first run of Gimp though, the Fonts should load like normal.

It's really hard work usinh MS Paint. I have 2 good things, why.

#1: It has just a few help-out things.
#2: It can't convert pictures to meteor-readable *.pcx- files, you need to use another program.

No, I meant if ur lazy to buy a bigger program, or download the GIMP. I'm sure all of us are hard at work at whatever program we use :o)
