The radio can do two main things. 1. Call in a plane to parachute 10 guy on your location of if enough space a heli come in and drop em off. 2. Command your guys. the 1 key would be fallow 2 would be attack in the direction aimed or faced 3 would tell them to retreat away from direction faced or pointed 4 would regroup they all come to your position 5 would be would tell them to hold position when you give these orders it applies to every ally on screen. You have to find the radio and it will be a big secret (HARD TO FIND). You could only use reinforce ments once per map. Or insted of finding it you can eisily find it but you level it up so depending on your level you can control certain types and ammounts of troops. And the troops under your command would do a little more damage. Edited: 04 January 2005 01:16 You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

For fun the radio should also be able to change the music or something, like an actual radio. You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

Lol yah that would be pretty sweet but these sweet ideas just make the game take longer to be finished, but at least it will be worth it. Good idea Armaghetto (If thats ok that'll be my lil nickname for you)

Heh cool nickname mutation! ![]() BTW I think some of these ideas take too much effort to implement, and unless you have smaller, easier-to-implement ideas, they should perhaps be left for the next Meteor game altogether to save development time on Meteor 2. As it is, with all the feature requests there are for Meteor 2, it'll probably take 'till 2006 to finish.... You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

Too bad you can't do infantry commands now. Since calling in reinforcements should be seldom available anyway, you could do something similar with scripts. Edited: 09 January 2005 01:06 You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

Well I for one can't wait any longer for Meteor 2 to be released (Full Version). Besides the sooner that's done and over with, the sooner JB and team can get to work on Meteor 3(D). You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

Which, BTW, better be like a Meteor looking and playing version of GTA 1 or 2 ![]() Mabey when JB gets famous and starts getting rich and when he starts making his own "JBGames Corp." somewhere in China and I am his toenail filer, Dave Man is his office-supply buyer, and Papercut is his lead worrishiper, followed by eveyone else here who are worshipping minions, then perhaps we will make a "Meteor XXXVII" in 3-D O.O You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

No need! LOL! The next one's gonna be 3D anyway. It'll just be top-down (optional or situation-specific view perspectives would be appreciated, of course) in 3D.... Heh but yeah imagine Meteor XXXXXVVIII.... LOL! Actually come to think of it it's better not to go that far! Heh! We don't want another Final Fantasy series style of naming strategy.... M3(D) should stay in the regular birds eye view, but it should be like rts games, when you use the mousewheel to scroll the screen down, or zoom in. an FPS would be good idea, but I have an even better idea, I found this free First person engine called retribution engine. I will make a mod on that engine based on meteor, and you guys can play that game instead. look up retribution engine on google and go to the retrib website. My mod should come up in some months since the editors are pretty complicated and will take me a while to make.

I may also make a WAD file on doom based on meteor too, since the editor is far less complicated!

Use ZDooM if you're gonna make a WAD. Or if you want it to have good graphics instead of high-tech features, use Doomsday (JDooM).... Ports are much more fun that the original Doom.... BTW "Retribution" looks like a bit of a mix between the Half-Life Engine, the Vavoom Engine, the Risen-3D Engine, the ZDooMGL Engine, the FuhQuake Engine, the Cube Engine, and the LithTech Engine.... Heh! I wonder how powerful it is.... You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

Sweet! Not a bad idea, perhaps JB can become a one-man-company and create such a masterpiece ^_^ We could even consider this new game "share-ware" it'll be so good O.O! Edited: 20 January 2005 20:53 You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

wait how would that work? how could a player control an army of players? the players would have no actions if the commander points and clicks to what they do? Or do you mean just giving them commands out loud and your army follows them? EDIT: Wait I read your post again, me-mantis, I understand what you mean. nevermind.

There is already a game like that. Its like mideival but they have experimental weapons. One guy (the commander) builds stuff and tells the peasants what to do. He builds buildings that give new weapons and classes. The soldiers fught and can also help collect gold and recources and help to build buildings. You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

Are you talking about Warcraft? If so, You are only getting a part of the idea. There are other games similar to that such as starcraft, command & conquer, etc. What he means is commanding units while in the first person mode. Similar to Tom Clancy games, like Ghost Recon or Rainbow 6.

Yes I believe Savage is the game Armageddon is talking about, since that's prettymuch the only one that combines RTC and FPS.... You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

I also have just heard about "Battlefield 2" which is made by the makers of "Battlefield 1942" Which has a command mode, or you can just run out into battle and play like you do in battlefield 1942. Check eagames.com you may find it in there

You could also use the radio to call in air strikes or artillery bombardment. That might be usefull. You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

it would be good if you had some micromanagment commands, like all soldiers go here or something...i perfer bombing strikes to take out tanks, and the radio can be used to complete objectives as well, like take out the anti-tank guns so you can call in the bombers or something...i still would perfer if it remained freeware for now...its one of the reasons i play meteor. about unit micromanagement its kinda like warcraft, so make the units automattically take cover by determining the sectors avalible to them, like in MOH:EA or something.
