JB has been asking for (non-mod) user levels and other support from his loyal fans. We mostly gave him whining for the past several months.

The single player engine seems (to me at least) mostly done. The features of 1.4 were well worth the extra wait.

Anyway lava, I like your passion towards the game. There is still a lot of mapping work to be done, which will speed up the release date, and gives you a chance to really show the M2 fans what you've got brewin' in yer noggin.

I think there should be credit given to the mapper in the text at the beginning of each level if there isn't already.

Yes, and have you sent out map request yet? if you have, i havent got any :(. But then again, i need to figure out how to get my video card working again in direct draw, i have the lastest drivers and all (any suggestions?).

Lava: remeber he also said that the release of M2 was going to be in the summer too. Things get delayed alittle when people whine and complain about new sugestions lol ^_^. But now M2 (coding and features wise) is pretty much complete. Here is what I belive there is left to be done for the final version:

-Create the campange (single player) levels/story (story what ive heard, is in place already).

-Finsh up putting in last minute suggestions/bugfixes

-Create a new intro/(ending?) animation.

I think thats pretty much left that has to be done. At the MOST M2 could take until spring, but i tihknk it will be out in January, if we get these levels done.

I've been focusing on my own game's design document.

In other words: I'm a whining hypocrite! :p
As soon as JB and I agree on an interface, I'll drop everything and hammer out the clean & optimized shrouder code.

I think the original Release Date was an approximation and a guess based on how much could get done by year-end. Unfortunately I don't think anyone was counting on Half-Life 2 and other such things (including Real Life) eating up so much development time. Oh well, not to worry. I'm sure James is working hard to bring the final version of Meteor 2 to the masses as soon as it's satisfactory and complete.
