It would be kool if it was raining, there would be cloud shadows on the ground, or you could have a cloudy day option with cloud shadows on ground or somthing in the lines... You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

That would be cool but the shadows should be really light otherwise they will get in my way.

In my mod, I made a few levels with cloud shadows, But in meteor2 shadows take a ton of cpu speed, meaning that this would be hard on your computer and make the game slow. You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

Actually that is not the case. The new M2 transparency code is up to 14 times faster than in Meteor 1 allowing for the following... There is a tranaparent light layer applied pretty much all of the time. This layer can be used for sector lighting, coronas, light level adjustment and even cloud shadows. I think you get the idea, M2 has an "always on" available hi speed trans layer which is designed for this kind of thing which does not seem to have a noticable effect on performace. The other cool thing is that as its a seperate layer all colour merging and blending is already done before it is merged with the terrrain (and objects). This makes for nice lighting effects. Thats Kool! so is there a FPS meter or number in the game so you can cheak how much memory the game is taking up? You should also try using the game on other computers of varius speeds and memory so you can create a good list of recomended reqirements so some of the people out there dont DL a game thats to slow to run. Unless youve already done this! You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

Well I normally find some cra.ppy old PC and run it on there to get an idea of the performace. Basically the lighting is totally optimised and it looks great so it would be unfair to take it out totally. If your PC really can't handle it (my PC is not amazing and it runs fine) then there will be an option to disable the lighting. That is kool. Even if I did have a horrible computer (I don't) I would like to turn lightning. You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

Awesome, so we'll have lag-free night maps?

Yes. If I integrated the M2 tech into Meteor it would be about 80% faster, generally lol. Perhaps M2 is faster at night than M1 in the day. I may update M1 some time with the M2 blender code but once you play a night mission in M2 you won't want to play M1 much. You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

I think it would be nice if day/night could be scripted to change, so you could play a map where it starts out at dusk, and then becomes night. You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

that would be cool maybe M2 could have an internal clock, that makes: 1 real life second = 1 M2 minute 1 real life minute = 1 M2 hour. and so on... Then at the end of the game, it will count how many M2 days it took you to complete the game. There could be missions that affect it too, for example, you need to get to a certain map within the next 24 hours (real-life minutes) or the mission is failed or something. Or in some situations, you are expected to arrive at 14:00 to this certain area.

Hmmm, that is really cool thing, you can count how long Dave's been on his trip! And you should have a map where Ash comes back to base rosfield, could I make that map? Edited: 22 September 2005 06:12 You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

Aleks, You make a limit of 3 more spam posts, I will have no choice but to delete every one of your posts, whether it be spam or not, because this is just getting ridiculous.
