I just posted in the 'Enemies shoot out of the screen' thread on the 1st of August but the forum seems to put this post on 8 January, before the topic starting post. It's just... weird. EDIT: This one is also posted on 1st August, and as you can see, again it says 8 January. What's happening?

Yes, you are absolutely right! I didn't notice that. EDIT: The forum puts my post on 8th January too! What's going on here?!

Oh! I think I know what the problem is. Jbserver must use a numbers-only date system (so july 31st is 31/07/08 and august 1st is 01/08/08) and it's been screwed up somehow so it reads in month-day-year format instead of day-month-year (or vice-versa), so it thinks that 01/08/08 means 'January 8th, 2008' instead of 'August 1st, 2008' You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

Yeah, I was also thinking of that. Anway, it must really be fixed because it screws up the order of the posts. I suggest that everyone reduces his rate of posting to a minimum until this is fixed.

Yes, I agree. We must not write posts until the bug is fixed. I am going to stay at my grandmother's house for two weeks. I am leaving tomorrow morning. So I am not sure when I will be able to enter the forums. Goodbye for now. See you in two weeks.

What are we keeping a timeline on our posts? Who cares?

Yep, the fact that's it February today proves that Canuck's explaination is correct. @Papercut: This timeline is kind of imortant as the forum engine sorts all posts by date. Yesterday I posted in the 'Enemies Shooting Out From The Screen!' thread and it appeared before the topic starting post... EDIT: And Janne also posted in the 'Meteor 3 WIshlist' (With 2 capital letters BTW ;P) and as the topic started December 2007, it appeared about in the middle of the topic. The fact that it sorts the posts by date is good, because if James or any other admin manually corrects the date of the post, the post order will also be fixed.

The end of the world is upon us! EDIT: actually I see now why the dates are a problem, I thought all posts were placed after each other based on the time the thread was updated, not the actual date and time. So basically instead of posts getting deleted, you just post somewhere in the middle of the thread. I really need to bug James about this pronto.

lol Today is 6 August (6/8) or in the US it is August 6 (8/6). Dates are being stored in month/day order in the database instead of day/month. Its the new server you see. Anyways I best fix it. Each day we forward a month until the 13. You need to login to create posts in this thread. |
