Yeah... Yesterday was VERY sunny weather, and now it's October 1'st and SUDDENLY, all of the sunshine turned into rain, wind, falling leaves... Seriously, I hate Autumn. During Summer, you can relax in a chair with the sun on your body... During Winter it's cold, but you can play in the snow (Yay =D)... But Autumn is like Winter without snow. And it's very rainy so you're forced to stay inside and play on your computer until your eyes blink like a Christmas tree, unless of course you wanna play in the rain and mud, which makes you sick afterwards. My favourite season is Spring. It's like the combination of all positive stuff about Summer and Winter. It's only about 6 six months away now... Yay. >=(

I'm gonna have to say winter and summer are my favorite, because they're good, solid seasons. Fall and spring are like summer and winter with an identity crisis. Fall is rain, wind, leaves to rake; spring is half-melted snow, rain that freezes overnight, and mud. Summer is lots of sun, winter is lots of snow, both of which are fun! I went to a parade on halloween commemorating my home major league baseball team winning the World Series for the first time in 28 years! There's an enormous fanbase all jammed into one city, it was nearly impossible to get to the parade, but I did. Lots of people were drunk and everyone was really friendly heh. We took a train up there, and the trains were delayed 2 and half hours, and were jampacked with baseball fans.

ya know guys, GWB was probably the best president you'll see in your lifetimes. It's just that the media portrayed him as the devil, and because facts are increasingly hard to get Exhibit 1. GWB doesn't tell the media about the 600 tons of uranium we found about 12 miles from Baghdad so that insurgents won't know to interfere with our safe uranium relocation option. The media whines about him not finding WMDs for years, while we stabilize a hostile nation who really doesn't deserve any of our help, trying to make everyone believe that GWB is a loser. The general population is absolutely clueless, and doesn't know any of this happened. I could go on, but I'm really going to have to say that the world is a better place due to action taken by America, and the Bush Presidency. I'm really doubting that the socialist ideals obama seeks to implement will do anything but destroy the American economy. Anyhow, I'm celebrating the realization of a new RTS game -- Red Alert 3's arrival in my mailbox directly from Electronic Arts. It will look remarkably pretty on my shelf while I play Meteor 2. The media did play a huge role in Obama's election. Everyone makes a mockery of Bush, to the point where many many people started to hate him. I HATE BUSH I HATE BUSH I HATE BUSH is heard all over the country. He has the highest dissapproval rating of any president we ever had. I'm sure that a majority of the population can't even say why. But whenever a fad develops, the only thing the media can do is encourage it to get more attention. Obama, having a lot of money, spent a hell of a lot of it on his campaign portraying himself as the exact opposite of Bush, because that's what the majority of Americans wanted. Obama encouraged change the best he can, and what better symbol of change for America is there than the first black man running for president for the first time ever? Democracy works like a pendulum. I trust in Obama to do the things he says he can do, but if he can't, the majority of Americans will swing back to republican before the next election. I'm sure of it. EDIT: I do have to disagree with saying that he has socialist ideals. I'm sure you guys are familiar with "Trickle-down economics"? I think all the money he spent on that commercial was a clever move because it helped to encourage the idea that he is not a socialist, while emphasizing how great he was at the same time. He definitely killed two birds with one stone there. I admire that kind of intelligence to be fully honest.

I find it interesting that anyone would try to discourage people from voting for him because he has 'socialist ideals'. Every major political party in Canada has some kind of socialism on their agenda (even the Consevative party wouldn't dream of doing away with socialised healthcare, there'd be a revolt). Up here, socialism isn't perceived as a bad thing so long as it's used properly. Accusing a candidate for Prime Minister of being intolerant to socialism would be much worse than saying he was a socialist. And thousands of "Santeri"s on Finland, which happens to be my name.. and besides I already have given out my last name as well on the Internet (on sites with behaving people, of course), and what about James? Speaking of James... where's he again? I haven't seen him around for a while. ![]() Edited: 12 November 2008 20:31 You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

Well, Macromedia and Adobe are companies that teamed up. I remember that they released some versions of "Macromedia Studio", which is a collection of Macromedia/Adobe products, including both Flash and Photoshop. They are both drawing programs, but Macromedia Flash is aimed at animating and combining it with scripting, while Adobe Photoshop (As you can already read in its name) is rather for photo editing. But I think (not sure) that they are both created using the same drawing engine or at least lightly modified versions of it. So all in all these programs resemble each other a bit, actually. BUUUT I guess we're going off-topic again! =D EDIT: ... So don't post any comments on this message, or this topic could either become a topic about drawing programs, OR maybe even a topic about going off-topic. So just... Go on with the celebraing OK? Good. =)

Christmas was initially limited to those of Christian faith, such as my family. Christmas however has become the number one source of income for retail business because a majority of families (At least in the US anyway) are if Christian faith. The fact that Christmas draws so much money, businesses are allowed to commercialize it by advertising Christmas sales. Christmas has become so good for the economy that it being advertised in the media has gotten people who are very mild Christians to celebrate Christmas. I think the fact that it's been so good for the economy is why it is so widespread. If more religions encouraged people to go spend money on each other like Christmas does, we'd all be celebrating those holidays too at some point in the future, unless you are strictly tied to one individual faith.
