Well, I've found at least one problem. The game won't run! You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

And what's that Microsoft VC80whatever folder? Might that have something to do with it? You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

Rod3d runs perfectly on my computer. I don't know why it doesn't run on your computer.

You need to provide me with some basic information to help me replicate and fix this problem. First I need to know exactly what OS you are using. Is it 2000, XP or Vista? Which version? It is x64 edition? Hope its not Windows 98. Secondly I need to know the exact error message. Finally what computer do you have? I don't need much information about the machine just the processor and video card really. James You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

I've got XP professional. There is no error message, it just cuts to a black screen for about half a second and then disappears and nothing else happens. Not sure about the processor, but it's at least 700MHz and most games run fine on it. I've no idea what the graphics card is, but like I said before, most games will work fine on it. I may be able to try another machine though, if that's not enough detail (it's probably not, eh?). You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

It runs a bit slow on my computer but luckily my dad has an ultra fast one and I played it there. This is my list of buggies: -Aiming in FP mode is hard. You have to aim a little higher or lower than the enemy to hit it. -Outside enemies can hit you while you are inside (And I don't know what's the point of a building without a roof =P) -Missing crash when you kill air enemies (They just disappear). -When you keep clicking the mouse button, you can fire any weapon very rapidly; There is no interval between shots when you do this, making for example the shotgun overpowered. -You can 'spin' yourself through the walls. Also, the fact that I can't save yet makes me want to throw my PC out of the window when I die =P Overall, I really enjoyed it and I can't wait until a version with these bugs fixed comes out =)

Oh, I figured out what my graphics card is (I think)--an Intel 82810. I'm still trying a few things to try and get the game to run. This is really frustrating!!! You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

I think James is aware of the Import Meteor maps thing but he just didn't implement it yet.

Yeah but as Meteor maps has another structure it really is something different. That's what I think about it, at least.

Rod 3D runs really nice on my computer. I have a few issues or "bugs" though: -Playing in "bird-eyes' view" when I press the "left arrow" and "arrow up" the player object doesn't turn North-west. It just behaves oddly. -When I die and the map "restarts" I start with all my weapons. I guess this is a feature included only until savegames are implemented? Thanks for making a great new freeware game ![]() You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

Yes I am aware of the up/left and items reset problems. Hey Canuck is your computer really a 700Mhz machine? If so that makes it about 8 years old? Are you able to run other OpenGL or Direct3D 3D games on your machine? Rod 3D may required hardware acceleration (i.e. Nivdia GeForce or ATI 3D video card) however I will look into software OpenGL support too but this will be much slower and less pretty. Yes, it will run OpenGL, not sure about direct3d. I have DirectX9 now. I will be getting a new one soon though. You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

Finally hooked up my new computer, and the game works, it's AMAZING!! Haven't got a chance to play it much yet, though I have already started making a map. Only thing so far that I'd suggest is being able to skip the great long intro cutscene somehow. Congradulations James on an awesome game (and I haven't even played it that much yet!!) Yes. I may split the level into 2 at the crash and make SPACE end the level. You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

when the Chinooks are taken down they have a tendency to kill you when you first spawn before you move
