How did you 'discover' Meteor or any other JB game? I found it by searching for shooters on a dosgames site. I found meteor and it looked pretty colourful so I downloaded it! How about you?

Well, my brother had 'discovered' www.jbgames.com and then he told me about Meteor and the site. Then I made an account in www.jbgames.com and you know the rest.

Was the site "www.dosgames.com"? That's where I found it too, except it was an old Dos version that didn't work on my computer, but there was a link on the same page to the jb meteor download page. You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

its a long story you know.. many years ago (around 1999) i had a game magazin (called Freegames) which came with a cd. Amongst other games there was Meteor (v0.621R beta). I was about 12 years old and found the game very addictive (i beated it uncountable times =), i made many maps for it.. years later in 2004 i got internet acess in my home.. wandering around megagames.com i found Meteor again. i saw that its a newer version so i downloaded it. in the file there was a redirection link to jbgames.com. i was curious so i've loaded the page and i found v1.2 and the other games. I have also found M2 beta 1.4 which was wonderful compared to M1. the file was protected so i got into the forums (look my join date =). i didnt care much about the forums at that time as my english was way more crappier. but then again i just came back from time to time to see other meteor players. after half year ive made my 1st post!! (http://www.jbserver.com/forums/ThreadView.asp?ForumId=4&TopicId=24&ThreadId=883) you can see the rest.. (it was really long, isnt it? =)

JohnWE downloaded it and played a beta of meteor 1... an old one with a green background. It was fun, so the next time I downloaded it to play it, I found a new version. Then I made a 'afganistan' mod for it and reported a ton of bugs. I've been playing it ever since. You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

My uncle gave me a CD of a bunch of old games he collected from gamehippo.com and some other freeware sites. Meteor was one of the games. I didn't like it a whole lot at first but I found out that it had a map editor, as well as editors for every other aspect, which really turned on my interest. I figured that this could lead to me creating an entire game out of this game using only the editors, which evantually led to CRATER, my latest Meteor Mod. I really should get back into meteor modding. I don't have a whole lot of ideas though. Maybe I'll just make maps.

Whoa, thats a long story. I've always wanted to tell people, but it's not so special, just cool ^,^. Anyway: For many years ago, i was visiting a friend of the family, while i was there i played a game from a cd with many (100 exaclty)demo-games. This game where a early verision of M1, i had the cd at home actually, and i installed the game. While in the game i noticed this Url on the top. 'http://www.jbssoftware.co.uk". This wasn't the time i registered. I registered when the site was named www.jbgames.com i think ![]() You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

Well kinda many years ago I was ordering a magazine about computers, and it also provided a CD containing tools, games, and so once a month. While I had spare time, I was going through one of them, playing those games in there; one of them being Meteor (and the only one I kept on my drive ![]() Altough, something happened and I stopped playing Meteor, don̈́'t know what exactly. After a couple of years I found jbgames.com while surfing the net and got back to Meteor. Shortly after that I got interest in M2 (which was in beta state); and here we are You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

Not an error, its a Standard Unicode character that is normally invisible, and will change text direction for languages such as Arabic. Wiki has an article on it.

I see you have got off topic a little? about this strange character, anyway, I discovered Meteor from a strange disc my grandfather gave to me, I have no idea where he got the disc, but it had over 100 small retro games on it, and since I lost the disc, I continue to find it again and again (when changing computers) from the internet. ![]() You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

I found meteor from a disc too. It was something like 100 best games of the world (translated). I were 7 or 8 years old so it was 8 or 9 years ago. When my friends saw it we played it always in school. But we didn't know how to play it so we weren't able to save or load. At start we didn't konow that we could use mouse to aim ![]()

heh ya those old times when mouse aiming was a bit uncomfy as you couldnt use wasd for movement, so i didnt use mouse at all and still managed to beat it a few times, tho it was easier since the bullets werent instant hitting that time
