Couldn't there be a download-o-meter that's shows how many that downloaded your map/mod? And this meter was "linked to a another that showed the most popular of all things (mods and maps). Like an top5 or top 10. Every time some one downloaded a mod or a map that mod/map get 1 "point". Then their bar increase... Do you have more suggestions about this? I'd go for that idea. A small idea of if you should download it. However this could be abused be one person downloading something more than once. You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

Well, perhaps it should be: 1. You download a mod by clicking on the link 2. The link goes to a page where the ip is collected 3. If the ip has went to this same site before, the download rate will not increase 4. The download starts I don't know will using IPs be a good idea because this should be now guaranteed in the terms that it isn't used for anything bad or so, though another way is to use cookies but when there comes a user with a browser that doesn't support cookies or hasn't enabled them... Uniqe ip's is a good idea, cause if you destroys your games/meteor2 folder by mistake, and must have an new external mod for your game you wont "cheat". Edited: 24 September 2006 10:00 You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

Well, though dynamic IPs could do a problem though ![]() But if we would use both cookies and IP detection it should do it ![]() You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

How about terrain fiction? to simulate ice and space. and a customizable cone of view for objects so you could sneak up on a sniper which has a long but thin cone cause it's looking throught the scope and other units having shorter but wider cones. This is acually quite similar to some other ideas i've heard. Edited: 26 September 2006 01:36 You need to login to create posts in this thread. |
