During some spare time that I had, I took the time to tinker around with M2 a little, and made a very basic representation of E1M1 from "Ultimate Doom"

Doom Meteor is an abandoned project I may not be able to ressurect the mod itself, but if anyone would like to bring it back to life, its up to you. I can provide you with the graphics and soundfx, and some other information and files you may need.

The map comes with the Episode 1 Map 1 music (Translated in .IT format) and some of the real textures from the game.

It's not very high detail, but it's a pretty accurate representation of the map.

I think its great, the textures work well and I knew exactly where to go.

I would suggest the next things to do are...

2. Russle up some troops (make a team).

3. Create all of the Doom monsters (or at least just basic objects so they can be placed on maps). Make the power ups too (for the same reason).

4. Work hard on getting the scale finalised. It felt like the map was a little too big to me but saying that if it were true to Doom scale then it could be cosy.

3. Make the maps! Maybe I could code up a doom level to M2 map tool, just to get the sectors across (no promises!).

Tip: Keep the texture names the same as Doom.pcx (i.e. "flat_1.pcx" of whatever they use.

UPDATE!

(Requires the first version of E1M1 to play)

Fixed:
-Tweaked a few vertices to make it closer to E1M1
-Removed all the original units and powerups

Added:

-The DOOM GUY object!

-Several new monster objects in replacement to the troopers in the map. Here is a list (the ones with X's next to them are not found in the map, but will have to be edited into a map at your will.)

3. Imp
4. Demon (X)
5. Cacodemon (X)
7. Hell Knight (X)
8. Baron of Hell (X)
More Monsters coming soon!

-All new Doom weapons!
1. Pistol
2. Shotgun
3. Super Shotgun (Double Barreled, Combat)
4. Chaingun
5. Rocket Launcher
6. Plasma Gun

8. Chainsaw!

- A few "DOOMBOT" objects, which are just the doom guy holding only one weapon mount, incase you want to make your own little Co-op type thing.

-New Powerups, which are just the weapons and ammo sprites used in Doom

All Monsters and weapons have been modified to be as similar to the ones in Doom. Game play is pretty exciting. All monster and doomguy sprites have been drawn to be slightly bigger than the normal troopers to fix the "map not quite drawn to scale". I may make MAP01 Entryway from DOOM 2, and possibly the whole DOOM 1: Knee-Deep in the Dead Episode =D Stay alive!
