21 April 2006 04:50 (UK time) I am here to present: THE GRAPHIC MAKING CONTEST!! Every few weeks, I or any other VIP or Moderator will make a post of a certain thing for our forum members to draw. Make a post, comment about your drawing and attach it to your post. Moderators and VIPs, be sure to make it really clear what our members are supposed to draw. For example "Draw an Alien" isn't very acceptable. You could say "Draw a primitive slimy-ish alien in its immature age", which would make it a little more clear what our contestants are aimed for. Any contestants are not allowed to use other people's or any other company, or group's sprites. Your not allowed to use their sprites as a base to make your own. However, you are allowed to look at a sprite and use it to give you an idea of what to draw. DO NOT RESIZE A DRAWING AND CALL IT YOURS. I WILL CATCH YOU. You are allowed to use whatever program you wish to draw your graphics. I will not stop you. (Unless of course if it's a program that exports sprites from games or from other people's files.) Your graphics will only be accepted in .PCX, .BMP, .GIF, .JPG, or .PNG form. Please don't submit .SPR files, this is a graphics contest, not a sprite contest. No Insulting Other contestant's drawings. However, Constructive Criticism is accepted. This Contest offers very little, or no rewards. This contest is merely to show off your talents. 21 April 2006 04:55 (UK time) We'll Start this thing off a bit easy. As soon as you can, I would like to see you draw a HUD sprite (for either M1 or M2) of a Pistol. -This Pistol can be as High-tech or Low-Tech as you wish. -Must be small enough to fit snuggly on the screen without obstructing the players view. Especially if it used the same sprite as a powerup as well. -Be sure to include whether it is an M1 or M2 drawing. -This contest has no submission date, I will just end it when i get the picture that no one else is submitting any drawings. -Suggestions for possible winning prize? *Papercut Pro-Murder. I promise not to use any of your graphics in any of my mods, at least wothout written/typed permission. And I certainly would never call them my own. You can talk about ADO though (Activex Data Objects), javascript, asp, php, vbscript and maybe I will add java programming language [you can make web applets with it). There is a section for XML, CSS, FTP and Media as the newbie (ForumCo added media support (youTube, wmv, wma, flash, googlevideo, quicktime)] and I might add RSS (Really Simple Syndication)... Hmmm... could you do applets with c++? I know that you can use Python and Perl/CGI in ASP code, I dunno about c. Well, I can add a ASP Programming Section category and Applet Programming Section (with c maybe in). Good idea btw. 08 February 2007 01:57 (UK time) Time to revive a good old thread -*-*-!ROUND TWO!-*-*- Draw a tank (any vehicle with treads) that has a new primary weapon other than the generic 'turret'. So basically draw any tank that has some other weapon, like a laser, a minigun, anti aircraft gun, anything. Just no generic tank turret that shoots tank shells. You should draw the whole tank, with either the turret already drawn on top, or two seperate drawings, one with the tank base and the other the turret.
