I was cleaning space for my comp, and you know, I had Meteor's size as 140 MB!!!! I took all of the Targa Screenshots away and then Meteor was just 6,3 MB. 1 Targa is 600 kb, 1 JPG is only 48 kb. We would all have 552 kb save per 1 screenie!

Well the short answers are:

- TGAs are not dithered like JPEGs
- TGAs are fast to make (not that important)
- There may be some legal jumbo with using JPEG compression

But yes there could be a problem with file size here. Another area is saved games which are far too big and will be reviewed.

Why not a game option for selecting screenshot filetype? Some people with ample hdd space (like me) would appreciate the extra quatily while some people who want less space could use jpg.

Mike's one I think is good, you should enter the filename and it would save it (like in ROD)
