I have always wondered this, I thought of many combinations, none have really made sense.. (Radical Oblivion Defense...? Nooo...) So now I ask, what does it truly mean?

That's not revealed to us so far as far as i know. Same for TSX. And GNV's original meaning is forgotten too, before you ask.

My guess is that ROD is like NOD.

The ROD buggy looks just like the Command & Conquer NOD buggy, and it's styled red.
