10 reasons why I would (not) want to live in the Meteor world...

PROS:
- You easily get weapons there.
- You can run at 25KM/H, even when you're carrying a ton of weapons with you.
- I always wanted to try the Hoverboard.
- Building a house in this world is A LOT easier than in the real world.
- If someone is shooting you, you can hide behind sheep.
- You don't have to be afraid of death; If you die, "Press Space to restart".
- I wish every battle would last as short as in Meteor in the real world.
- You can instantly teleport from earth to space.
- If you want to rule the world, press the tilde key.
- If you want a Doom Tank, touch a skeleton.

CONTRAS:
- This world is under serious terrorism.
- Entering public places where arms are not allowed is... Hard.
- You never know what could happen every time you touch a different sector.
- Everything is exactly 0.0M tall.
- You're constantly being watched by a camera above your head.
- You can't see any farther than, say, 10M in the distance. Unless you look NE, SE, ZW or NW, then it's about 14.14M.
- I don't want to get pwned by Ash.
- If you want to change your clothes, you would have to join a different team. Or edit them with Paint.
- If you want to eat a chocolate bar or drink some coke, you have to commit a murder.
- A world without girls is pretty boring =)

Lol, good reasons. And I'd also like to add that it's great to run so fast without getting tired. And you can also build your own Meteor world, you can paint the walls and the floor. When the enemies hit you, it doesn't hurt, don't forget that you can launch sheep and kill the enemies with them, in the real world there is not such weapon. ;)

Yeah, guns that use sheep as projectiles indeed don't exist yet...
Hmm... Should I take a patent on that and sell it to Heckler & Koch? =D

@PetiX

He means that Japanese font type.
How did you do that? =P
In case you don't see it yourself:

EDIT: When I tried to quote your post, I saw that it consists of unicodes, so it's not a font type on it's own. And looking at the unicode list, I saw that it belongs to the same category as Hiragana and Katakana.

For some reason I see the letters from this font type as boxes. My computer can't visualise the font type.

Yes, coincidence or not, but I had about exactly the same in a chat with me and PetiX; I tried to show him a smiley that only consists of unicode (This one: ◕‿◕ ) and PetiX could see, but for some reason I couldn't.

EIDT: Ahhh... Experimenting with typing Katakana, PetiX? =)

Hmm... Pretty weird indeed. Were you using a different browser or anything?
Anyway, PetiX just told me that he WAS doing that on purpose =D

BTW, Let's go on-topic again ^^,

@ParaScythe

I'm using Iceweasel (which is the Debian version of Firefox) and occasionally Epiphany (the GNOME web browser based on Gecko, so kinda FF-like too), do these count? :p

But yeah, let's get back on-topic.

ParaScythe wrote:

So? If you die, just press Space. If you get captured, press tilde and type kill and press Space. Plus, you can't feel pain... you just see red.

ParaScythe wrote:

ORLY?

ParaScythe wrote:

Use a larger screen resolution, problem solved. =)

One SC_SetObjectSide and you're colored differently. Though, it seems people are "grouped" along which colors they wear against others... if you know what I mean.

ParaScythe wrote:

Or infiltrate the Omega Facility... heh. Wait, that thing blew up! Oh well, perhaps they'll rebuild it once a new terrorist group appears...

Gee, I guess this is da post with most quote tags. :p

Pros:
-If you hurt yourself, there's these random things floating in the air that heal you if you walk into them.
-You can drive/pilot just about any kind of vehicle, plus control all of its weapons, all by yourself.
-You can cause all kinds of property damage and not be held accountable for it.
-You don't have to worry about money, everything you'll ever need is just lying around.

Cons:
-You can't sleep. In fact, you can't even lie down.
-You can't swim, so if your boat gets blown up you drown automatically.
-Really bad drivers that just go straight until they hit something, then change direction.
-Everyone is armed, and anyone who isn't usually gets slaughtered.

My favorite PRO would have to be the CRASH console command - now more stupid obstacles can block my way now!
On the other hand there's no such thing as bridges - only roofs or floors.

What happens if Meteor# crashes?

My website: http://halestrom.net/darksleep@Occasionally you may meet me when you sleep. In the darkest corners of your dreams, where your phone stops working and you don't know what to do. I'll be there; telling you that I don't support your device.

"Can't you just fix-"
NO! I told you when you bought this, when it goes wrong I can't fix it. It's filled with glue. The Greek goddess of glue Araldities herself would be impressed with this.

Please stop asking me for technical support during your dreams. Can't we just tour some surreal landscapes instead?

"How do I do that?"

Count your fingers. Keep trying. Make sure there's ten.

Then summon me. I am large and covered in wires. Clouds of baking soda pour into your world and a slightly weak yellowy glow appears from the LED strips behind me.

If you can see this message then you're already part of the way there. Keep all your styles disabled and you might see the dream within.

"But there's so much javascript everywhere! I can't see you. Help! I've forgotten to count my fingers! Where do I find them?"

The LED strip behind me pops and goes out. Dark spots appear in the centre of each light. I lift my finger to my lips. The smell of tantalum capacitors fills the air.

Ssh. Don't worry about that. Behind those frameworks there's another person sleeping.

Some day the javascript will sleep too.

Heh, you'll be hearing *boing* *bonk* *boijoing* all the time in downtown... now wouldn't that be fun?

Crashes? Hmm... *gets a flashback from a code lyoko episode where the virtual world started erasing away like a giant invisible eraser was literally wiping out the terrain*
