Does Meteor 2 have split-screen multiplayer?

Same answer here really. It basically depends on how the net code works. If the game runs single player as a local server and client then it would be easy to have 2 clients using split screen.

Obviously the network code status is undecided.

So it would be possible to have two Meteor2 programs running at the same time that could connect to eachother? That would be cool but I was thinking that he maybe meant half of the screen was one player and half the other. (like any console game)

agh, dont bother, I hate split screen, especially on a comp, I mean 2 people sitting in 2 seats trying to reach the keyboard and trying not to hit the other players hands. It would probably be tolerable if it has joystick support or something like that. (But it will still be hard to aim with a joystick!)

But also have online play version. So for people that hate split screen (like me) they have a better option.

Split screen is pretty much off the menu as its a lot of work to please very few people. So many people have LANs nowadays so I just don't see any point.

How about Composing a series of BotPlayers for people who cant play this game on the internet? I made Botplayers in the unit editor in M1 but he didnt come out 'too' well. But hes still tolerable. Maybe you could have a command in the console that says 'addbot' and a BotPlayer by the name of [whatever] Would join the game. Now wouldn't that be interesting? especially for me since I have 28.8K Dial-up.

Yes bots would be nice but they would be pretty thick unless you had an awful lot of waypoints.

Or you could make them similar to the ones on ZDoom, that let them be attracted to powerups and enemies. although that doesnt work well since they often get stuck running into walls when there are enemies or powerups in the room beside him. Maybe I could make maps specially designed for bots. I wonder how it will be able to respawn and pick up powerups though. There are going to have seperate player characters being controlled by AI on one computer. Unless you have a better idea...

How about making it so that bots are attracted to a certain radius (or aria) around the player and the power ups and shots like you said. They could have some sort of collision detecting code on them so they avoid constaintly walking into walls too.

dont get zdoom, get jdoom. Besides the fact that Zdoom has bots and Jdoom doesnt, Jdoom is about 8x Better. Especially with the particles, OpenGL surroundings, dynamic lights, and 3D objects and enemies (not included, has to be downloaded seperately), and High resolution textures (also downloaded seperately), It makes Doom so much better.

I meant that. Oh great now I need to delete ZDoom for JDoom. It's funny how one letter makes a massive difference.
