Q1. Will Fog of War ever take place in M2? I mean fog of war as in like the Fog of War in C-Dogs, Disabling the players ability to see over walls until he gets around them. I kinda hate having the ability to see what's in a building before i go in.

Q2. Will Melee weapon's still exist in M2? If so, Will they still have to fire a projectile with a really low range?

Q3. What does/will Cloud Count do?

Q4. Field of Visions for enemies?

The future of M2 is uncertain right now although it would be nice to get v1.22 completed and out some time soon.

I doubt that there will be any substantial changes (just fixes).

Cloud count referred to a feature which was never implemented that would have drawn transparent cloud shadows. This would be fat too CPU intensive using the current software blender.

I'm a bit sad that things have really slowed down.

M2 would be perfect with the bugfixes/features I've been mentioning forever:
1. sliding instead of sticking
2. look ahead for fast vehicles
3. left mouse = shoot, right mouse = other stuff.
4. Interface buttons should be 3x as big.
5. Fix helicopter movement.
6. (maybe) Shrouders (represented as line segments or clockwise concave polygons)

Making Meteor3D sounds like a lot of work.
M2 is still a great engine for modders, and I think the switch to 2.5d may make modding difficult.

Well a thing I would like to have is that the music would not start again when starting a new level, I think that it's better not to disturb the music :)

Another feature good to be would be like to have optional parameter exporting to script functions in a sector trigger.

Example:

void SetTriggerOn(int SectorId)
{
SC_SetSectorTexture(SectorId, "ColourLightGreen.pcx";);
SC_PlaySound("switches\\beep";);
}

and in sector trigger 7 (a red trigger that does nothing)
run SetTriggerOn(7);

or

SetTriggerOn(7);

but the run without parameters it could still go, the feature would be optional (but in this case it generates an error).

Lost interest lately due to bugs, crashes...yes it would be nice for M2 to stable itself.

One crash bug I noticed just lately is that you can't insert a sprite into the map at the objects-hidden mode without a crash.

I've also mailed James about some new info about the backgrond-sound bug: it doesn't work in AI_NONE.
