Alright, starting only weeks ago, spamming has become an issue here. for those who don't know what I am talking about, just don't make any useless posts. By this I mean, when I look at a thread, I don't want to see 1 word posts. I, and the rest of the forum "crew" here, no longer want any posts that don't explain any opinion, do not ask a question, or express a complete thought at all. Spam posts will be deleted under my moderator authority, and warned that you are in fact, making spam. Continuous use of spamming will have to result in serious consequences, such as deleting all of your posts, or temporarily changing your password. I am not going easy on this, these useless posts are frustrating and need to be enforced. DO NOT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE FORUMS.

ok sure I will! NP! Ok... so we won't actually delete all of your posts, we will just go through and remove any posts that do not benefit the users of this forum. We could also reset your post count without removing your posts=D Edited: 26 September 2005 22:47 You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

Ok I don't want to get dragged into this spam war too much. However my post count benefits from posting this reply so there you have it. You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

Actually I was thinking of deleting all the posts, just not the ones that have attached files on them... Does deleting a post subtract from your post count? EDIT: Just noticed this is my 900th post, lol though it doesnt help me in all this spamming nonsense since postcount is becoming the issue

900 to 917. You may need to watcch out, or you may have the most posts. I don't care if you post on the forum, as long as your post is funny, useful, or insightful. If all you want to do is say is "well I don't know the answer ask somone else" thats not very useful, but if you can say "I have the same problem and it happens when blah blah blah" thats cool. You may notice that I have been a very helpful person on this forum, with only 410 posts. You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

I may eventually get the number of characters input into the forums on this stats page. BTW: Passing up my post count does not earn any extra credit on the forums, although it may heave earned (no names here =P) a rank of noob for someone! I can't wait to see what happens to papercut if he outposts James Bunting. You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

Hehe, don't look forward to that! When I am at as little as one post away from beating, better yet, tying James, I will have to hold back on my post count. Maybe I should back at the meteor 1 forums and delete my spam posts. Here's an idear: Maybe posts can be labeled by moderators, being either spam, or useful. Then post count would be divided into useless and useful.

Good idea, would work that if I would spam by accident you could tell me and I would edit my post. =D Spam rating: 20% Edited: 28 September 2005 21:11 You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

Well, here is 1 more idea: users should be able to delete his posts. This would be useful if you would post in the wrong thread by accident and if you would spam accident and you could delete your spam posts to make moderators happy... Hrmph...I think we need to remind ourselves at this point in the forum's time about how to properly post. Ask yourself these questions: 1. How important is this reply? Will it add to the topic and do others really need/want to hear this? 2. Have I just posted? Maybe I should EDIT my PREVIOUS POST. 3. Am I obsessed with postcount? Am I posting just for another post in the postcount? 4. Have I read any requests from the topic starter on what he'd like to see (or not see) in his topic? Good, with those guidelines we will have fewer post-just-4-postscount posts. And i have an idea about this, shouldn't there be a delete this post button, so you can delete your own post if you think it isn't so good after all? You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

I really agree with you Erik, I would have some use to a delete button. Though it should open first a confirmation box that if you press it accidentally you don't lose a valueable post You need to login to create posts in this thread. |
