I tried the Beta and all of the ground vehicles go the same speed. The fishing boat is really slow too. If you could make the vehicles faster like cars and humvee. And make the boat fast too. You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

True, little cheap "everyday" cars are no fun, maybe if we had a Ferrari or a Viper GTS. Or just make the police car more worth driving since they move about walking speed.

There is a reason why its called "Fishing Boat" . What were you thinking? A high speed jet-engine boat? Lol, but not all of the vehicles go the same speed eaither, just similar ones do. If sports cars or supercars are going to be added at all, it'd be good to improve the collision-detection code first so that the car can't get stuck to a bush or rock or other objects mid-drive. Also, the velocity of the car isn't the only thing that needs to be improved then, because the improvement of the driving experience requires faster turning speeds as well, and to match the faster movement speed. Assain has a good point, most of the vehicles dont go the same speed, but thats done so we dont have to do any extra coding for making cars that go in a circular waypoint not ram each other from behind. Check Swallow Lake for example, notice how none of the cars can catch up with each other. Thats true the fishing boat is slow, but its not meant to go fast, you go 250 mph on a fishing boat and you scare the fish away! But if you look closely at the fishing boat, it has 2 engines on the back... (!?!) Collision detection needs to be improved for fast vehicles Because running into walls and going into a complete stop is definitely a nuisance for me...

Heh well regardless, as I said the whole collision-detection code needs to be overhauled before anything about any controllable vehicles, boats, aircraft, or whatever is to be modified and improved, because as it is, it would be like putting a Le Mans spoiler on a Honda Accord.... Cool a Formula 1 car! Heh that'd be neat, eventhough it wouldn't make much sense on normal roads and terrains because it's obviously a race car with very little ground clearance...! ;D Is the collision detection going to be rewritten or polished for Meteor 2, or will it have to wait for the next game?
