I'd have to say that the music in Meteor 2 is very good, and the inclusion of the track by "Minomus" makes it almost top-notch. I'd like to request that more tracks of the sort be added for upcoming releases of M2. In fact, I have found a few very good tracks that are like "Crystal Orbit", and are trance/dance like electronic techno-esque music, and most (if not all) are very melodic. I think they would fit the game well. Is there a place where I can upload these tracks? Most are is MOD and XM format and there might be the odd SM2 in there, but I've recorded all of them in 320Kbps/44.1KHz MP3 format (and I know that M2 supports MP3s) so the format shouldn't really be a problem. And I can downsize them (if they happen to be too big) by reducing the bit-rate.

Also, I think it would be great if there was a seperate music add-on pack that could be an optional add-on for M2 that people could download (I say optional because including them with the main M2 download file would make the Zip file too big, and for some people with slower connection that would be a problem).

good idea.

Some tracks I'd like in space - themed levels:
1) duran duran - strangelove (bomb the bass remix) instrumentals only
2) tiga and zin - i wear my sunglasses at night (instrumental intro without the stupid base beats)
3) orbital - halcyon

check out my old "shock troopers" gameplay recording:

Umm, I can't find a song called "strange love" or "strangelove" by Duran Duran. Are you sure you typed that right?

Anyhow, if you want I can send you the music I'm talking about so you can test it out and see what I'm talking about....

The MP3 soundtrack/download size thing is certainly going to need some thought. The latest beta contains 2 MP3s (and a bunch of mods) and weighs in at almost 20 megs.

I am not too worried if the beta reached 25 megs or so but any more would require a seperate soundtrack download.

Tiga and zintherius (I still can't spell zentherius)
I guess "strange love" isn't that popular

JB: Heh yeah I'm willing to help with that and downsize stuff, and to be honest I still think that in the end we're gonna need a seperate music pack. I'd be glad to do the music though, if you want.

fuzinavl: Yeah, heh, sorry I couldn't find any of those. Perhaps you could e-mail them to me or something, if it's not too much trouble.

Heh, I have ADSL (with an official maximum of 193KBps downstream), but I can download Meteor 2 1.32 Beta at 204.8KBps without any fluctuations in the download speed (that's ADSL's advantage, as opposed to Cable that fluctuates for most people). BTW, how's this for "patience": I download Half-Life 2 Bink videos! I have over 2GB of them! :p

You mean you don't own this? I didn't know you were renting.... How much does it cost? Oh, and what other sites do you have on the server?
