James, could you create an allied underwater sub? Like, it could only be damaged with specific wepons, or when it fired? that would be cool.
Can you make tunnel tiles that only land units can cross? That would serve for intresting multiplayer
At the very least, the allies are in need of more naval ships.

This isn't such a bad idea, as long as the same units could also appear for the opposing side. But yeah I'm all for unit balance and all that jazz. I'm also in favour of the idea of being able to play on the other side as well, and not just as the "allies".

I guess you can. Make the unit darker than the water and then it will look underwater-ish I guess. Great thinkin' though.

I am not sure about making torpedo damage only units as I need to kinda roll things up. I need to be careful not to take too much on.

As for drawing a sub I think the best way would be to skip every other pixel (transparent masked), like this.

For drawing the sub why don't you adjust the color option on the sprite so that the colors show as diferent shades of blue(You wouldn't actually see gray spots on a sub when its completely under water).
