I think music needs to be a little more "in control." I mean the menu music should play WHENEVER the menu is loaded, not just drag into all the editors. It does get quite repetative. The editors should have no music. ESPECIALLY the map editor (b/c i spend the most time there, and the music gets stuck like a land mine in my head)

Might this be as simple as slipping in an Aud_StopMusic command somewhere between the main menu and all the editors?

I'd like a game option that lets you stop music permently. Not because I don't like the music, but because I don't really like to hear the same songs 2.5 billion times.
Right now, I have my music volume set to 0, but this bugs me since it uses a small bit of cpu power.

You can import musics from m1 by first going to the meteor mod folder and copying the musics from the "music" directory. Then paste them in your owm musics folder.

Remember that M1 does NOT support MP3!

They dont have "Rights Reserved", you can listin to them on your computer, although they are not MP3 so most media player's dont know how play them.

A free program on the internet called ModPlug can play the music for M2/M1, and even convert them in MP3 (so normal music players can read them)

Actually, ive converted some of M1's music already in MP3 for my MP3 player (i also did M2, although that music is on a flash drive somewhere), so ill see if i can upload them here.

Thats right, even though the music for the Meteor games is used with permission from its authors it is all freely available on the Internet.

ModPlug Tracker will indeed convert the mod music files to MP3 but you may need to download an MP3 plugin to good results.

mpt.zip = Mod Plug Tracker
codec.zip = MP3 codec for high quality MP3 conversion

#3 Hum the tune you want to track, and then play it on a musical instrument.

#4 copy the notes and timing into mpt, and powie! you've got yourself a song!

heh, not that way! I think it's pretty more on the comp, and the nice part is: you don't need any instruments, the are all at the tracker already!

Well, on saturday, I think I can tell you all I know about speed rate with tempo, samples, instruments, tracking, effects, commands, cheating (ha, you can't cheat on tracking!), and making comments.

Well, I'll see you on saturday then.

Hey, it's also the time when the multiplayer map comp closes! What shall we do?

All I really need to know is how to get the notes down and then I should be able to find the rest out on my own (I hope).

No I can help you, I just need to know how! *takes a deep breath* Ok, if they do the M2MultiComp on saturday 8.00 pm, could we take it a bit earlier? Like, 6.30? If you were on the Central American, it would be.... 10.30. Or, if we could take the M2MapComp a bit later, I could have the time to help you guys on MPT.

I can not, I repeat, NOT make a 6:30 chat. If anything I would be lucky to get to the computer at 8:00 without anyone intuding. I CAN however give you the senario. I star up Modplug, I hit new, and the last thing I do is go to samples to drag an instrument to the black box. Isn't that good enough?
