Hello!

Been a while since I posted here, but I've played Meteor 2 from time to time and decided to bring the community a little mod.

Since I'm no advanced modder it will be quite basic. (^^,)

About the mod:

Quite modern style but with weapons that have no direct contact to existing military material.

The weapons:
6 round revolver.
30 round sub machine gun.
30 round assault rifle with tracer bullets, for those night operations!
5 round automatic grenade launcher.
5 round high power rifle.
5 round automatic shotgun.
20 round silenced, scoped automatic rifle with laser. (Goes under the name Tactical Rifle)
100 round machine gun.
15 round double-shot pistol. (burst fire alternative to 30 round SMG)
2 round sawn-off shotgun.
20 round automatic alternative to the revolver. (Goes under the name Pistol Auto) (Unique sound!)
Handgrenades
Flaregun

Beyond this I've modified the standard weapons but left them with the same name.

Flamethrower.
Miniguns.
Rocket launcher.
And more.

The maps are a mix of small and quick operations/scenarios and big, open vast landscapes.

Looking forward to releasing the mod soon.

Suggestions for additional weapons are welcome!

To-do:
Create sprites for weapons (not HUD)
Customize addtional vehicles
Add more maps
Acquire more soundfiles and music

Screenshots for those who are intrested!

First out is the Light Tank, using two fixed ship turrets to carve a way through the besieged city.

Secondly, a taste of the Pistol Auto!

Third in line is the simple artillery that delivers explosive rounds at a long distance. Camo is a must. B-)

:chocBeta release!:choc

Feel free to leave feedback :)

Level 6 out of 7 is incomplete but you can still proceed to level 7.

There will be at least 8 levels in total.

I need to come in contact with someone that can upload the beta mod for me! (^^,)

You should be able to do a forum attachment with your current rank though.

@masuda

I'm afraid the 5MB limit is way too little for the file I'm trying to post :(

Or am I missing a very important detail? I have zipped the file and it's 60MB approximately.

Edit: Cleared out additional standard files and it's now 50MB.

Ok then..
Your maps are very empty with little to do, especially the earlier ones. They do get better later on, but still feel too empty. There is also a trigger error on the northeast of the desert map that causes a CTD.
The weapon balance seems off. The AI range is only about half of what the standard Meteor 2 AI uses. A lot of the weapons seem OP as well. The ability to get the rifle so early makes it extremely easy. The re-fire rate on the shotgun feels extremely high.
As to the art style, your gun sprites don't feel right - they feel extremely blocky compared to default guns. The tank sprite is fine though.
Your music choice is...interesting. I hope that they are placeholder tracks. I can only listen to overly dramatic music repeated so many times.
I suppose that it is an ok start, but you have quite a bit of work to do.

Thanks for the feedback! :) Going to add more music to start with.

Also nerfed the amount of weapons/ammo.

The reason the shotgun is high rate is due to its automatic nature, but you reckon it's too fast anyway?

HUD items have a bad tendency of being blocky whenever I fiddle around in paint. ;)
