Hi guys, I wanna apoligise if I have failed some of you. I have a great idea! It's called the Iron Fist. You're an ace pilot, completing various objectives, from bombing to survival and more. I just need a scripter and a grapher. (Canuck?) It's got like, small amounts of music, and classic sounds. Oh and there's not much work. Just a bit of graphing and scripting and that should do it. All enemies are gonna be Mini-like. Anyone interested? Please, trust me at this one! NOTE: -Mappers: Spy -Scripters: Canuck -Graphers: Canuck, Kemikls -Other?:

Kinda like this? I had an idea to do a mod like this a while ago but it never really, ah, got off the ground. I think you might have to edit the "ObjectClasses.ini" file to make the planes easier to control though.... Edited: 12 June 2009 02:39 You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

So, I would need someone to finish the graphics. (Make them objects) And one scripter. I managed to make graphics for a turret but it's acting all weird! This mod is on rails, but the engine has shut down, a station is nearby but we need someone to push it there!

@Spy Regular... WWII-fighter-type (like this one?) or more a two-engined heavy-fighter type (like this one?) I'll animate the props of course. I can do scripting too, and I'll edit the ObjectClasses file to make the planes easier to control. @Kemikls Welcome to the forums! @Canuck Yes, EXACTLY like those, but smaller! Those could be considered enemies, so we need something special for the player character! Wow, you take a BIG part of the mod while scripting. Are you sure you wanna do this?

Scipting for this sort of thing shouldn't be too hard... and what do you mean by "special"? Edit: Like a really unique-looking plane, or a really good type, or like a heavy bomber loaded down with weapons, or what? Edited: 17 June 2009 00:51 You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

@Spy I have had a lot of work on my mod recently. And also I have been busy these days. So I'd like you to count me out of this mod if it's not a problem.

I've got three more planes done, which I'll upload when I can, and I'm working on something "special" for the player. Though I think it'd be cool if the player could choose which aircraft to fly for each mission, even "unlock" new ones to use. You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

Yeah, all you've got to do is make an 'item' for each unlockable aircraft. When the player unlocks it, they get that item, and at the beginning of each level there'll be a toolbar with the different planes they can use. If the player has the 'unlocked item' for a certain plane, you'll be allowed to choose it; otherwise, they can't. You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

Also, I think the missions should be focused more on air-to-ground missions than air-to-air, because i've been doing a bit of testing, and air-to-air isn't really a lot of fun. The thing how in M2 AI aircraft will fire in all directions even if they're weapons aren't set to rotate makes it kind of frustrating. Someone should get to work on making buildings, ships, AA guns, vehicles, and such, for the player to destroy... You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

Another thing, should the player's weapons (machineguns, cannons, rockets, etc.) all fire at once, or should they be able to switch between them? Also, I'm thinking of making the player unable to slow down their plane with the 's' or down arrow key, but instead use a toolbar to regulate speed. This way the player can't stop and 'hover'. Also, may have to have a toolbar to switch in an out of 'bombing' mode, cause the bombers have their weapons in turrets, but the bombs have to go straight.... @Canuck Whoa, awesome! I'm gonna make some sprites for boats and turrets ect. But, can you make them as objects? I'm having some difficulties with the turrets! But anyway, remember to visit jbgchat, so we can keep this project active.

Sorry, my internet's been out for a few days, so I haven't really been too active here... but I'll try and get some more graphics done soon. What kind of problems are you having with the turrets? You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

@CanuX Well, all kinds of stuff but I think I fixed it. Yesterday I didn't have time for IF or CG, because I made a Doom map. PS: We shouldn't take this TOO hard, but we must still make it.

okay, I've got a few more planes done, along with an AA gun, but we need to find a way to speed up a turrets' rotation speed, your plane moves so fast they can't track you properly. You need to login to create posts in this thread. |

@Canuck You have a point there. As soon as you are done with the AA stuff, send it to me and I experiment with the speed. Ok?
