Ooh I don't like that chat because it requires me to install the Java Runtime. Mind you I can't get my own chat to work.

Well if you have 2 screens you can span it!

Edit:

And here are the video settings from meteor2.ini (ideal for 2 1024x768 screens)...

[video]
width = 2040
height = 690
card = 2
vsync = 1
TranslucentHints = 1
FlatButtons = 1

Yeah, James and I were experimenting with resolutions and using two monitors, we were able to display M2 in a a widescreen and take screenshots.

Nice, mantis. I have yet to try that with my projector lol

Well, back on topic.

What would you guys think if i got about 7 or 8 ppl playing with us? Can multi even support that many? Ive got atleast 3-4 ppl liking M2, and will hopefully get lots more. I just need an exact, or almost exact time for this. It has to be sometime after 4:00 Eastern, or after 2:00 eastern on a weekend.

So? I Need date, time, yada yada.

Technically it supports up to 64 players, but if any of the problems with M1 multiplayer are there, i dont think it will handle to hot on more than 10 (we can try a 4 people tourny, with 2 games going though if this happens :D ). Ive also made an announcement on Gamehippo forums.

I have lanned up to 5 players with only a few bugs. I will be posting them soon, but they are mainly object/powerup bugs.

I once had probs with my chat because my account there went lock. I got some help from Wiggymaster (everywherechat.com admin) and I made my own to work. :D

Yep.

Hey, I made a html page with the script you need to be directed to the Antartica Chat. (it has the code the M2 Chat has too, so don't be afraid!) You can now register as your usernames.

The main bug is still the "waiting for spawn from server bug"
This bug ocours when the host stop hosting, and trys sto rehost.
The remedy thus far is restarting the hosts game.

The extra & annoying bug is that a client playing on the HH_GNVResearch map saw player characters shooting mega lasers when the players were in the turrets. This might not be a problem with the new version, but I never told you about it.

The bug that only bothers top secret endevours is the bug that when a host is acted upon by a script, all the players are acted upon by the same code.
i.e.
The host runs through a onw way teleporter that runs the script SC_REPositionObject(SC_GetPlayerObjectID(),X,Y);
I forgot the exact script but it basically makes all the players land on eachother on the specified x,y coords.

The Last, and most disturbing bug is the bug that limits your powerup pickup level to 32,XXX # of a certian powerup. Its basically the number that you used to describe max powerups. When a player picks up over this limit, all the powerups in that catagory are erased, and they can't pick up any more untill they die.

That's all the bugs I can think of now.

Nice job on an awesome game!

Neither work, as they both require java in the background.
Do we wanna have another meteor 2 mp map today that I recently finished?

I dont care, but I dont think james has a map download system over M2, so you'll need to provide a link. If he does, then mabey ill throw in my own H2H map (its a space/asteriod battle map) that is semi-done (it needs some invulrability tags and such for some of the objects)

Guys, first of all, you need IE 6.

Second, you NEED the latest version of Java.

Third, you might have to wait a minute for it to load!

Fourth, if you use Xfire, you can drop in a message to user "korjax" so I can fill you in on some details about who is hosting what.

Hey!

I guess it didn't seem to work out, but after all was said & done, I connected to JB, and we played a bit.

I think that next time we can avoid most of the trouble by using yahoo messenger, and making sure that someone can host.

Heres a pic of the game!

Yeah, it didnt go down too well. People showed, but the actuall multiplayer didnt let anyone connect pretty much. We spent 2 hours just trying to get someone ON!

I dont think multiplaer is too stable right now :)

Although, when i hosted one game and one person actually managed to stay on for a few seconds, i saw the "player" object constantly respawning (with all of the objects possible weapons on him) from ALL of the spawn points and going on "Random" AI.

It doesnt look like M2 was made for multiplayer :p

How about we try and get some help from some willing person who has managed to make a *working* multiplayer in a game? That way, James could concentrait on working on the acutall game (there are still a few map problems, and better AI always is a good thing :D ), and person X would concentrait on the multiplayer coding. Or, if we manage to get a solid multiplayer as far as how well it runs, then mabey we could start actually working on the multiplayer maps/modes?

Also, i URGE you that you make some of my suggestions in "Performace and YOU" in the game, its really killing my framerate just because of 100 boxes are "active" and running at the same time.
