When I put a sprite in my maps I make they don't do anything, for instance the fire sprite stops at the first frame and doens't continue, and any other sprite that has multiple frames doesn't switch frames either.

try setting the frame time length in the sprite editor. There is a feature that lets you set the frame length for all the frames.

Okay, this has nothing to do with the frame time, I checked that and all the frames where set properly. For instance I created a guy that would fall over and die and when I set the frame time properly the sprite was still stuck on the first frame in the map (the frame time for the first frame was 10, then 20, 20, 20, then -1, however the sprite never reached the frame with -1).
