When i hit meteor2.exe on version 1.32, it comes up with a missing HawkNL.dll file, and a extensive folder directory (eventually ending up in my system setup folder). Ive had a similar problem with another file before (not related to meteor) and it turns out that it needed a certin version of DirectX. I have the highest version now, version 9.0 of DX, so whats the problem?

Interesting you should say that, because apparently I have HawkNL.dll in my Meteor 2 folder right now (version 1.32 beta), which means that I guess it was either possibly left in the folder from 1.31 beta, or that it magically decided to appear.... Or maybe somebody up there likes me! ;P

Best thing to do is to just extract every new release's zip file into the same Meteor 2 folder as that f the previous installation and when it prompts and asks if you want to replace the existing file(s) with the new one(s) click "Yes To All" (or whatever it's called); diong this everytime is the easiest way to make sure you won't be missing anyfiles, because for example if another DLL goes missing in the next release, you might already have that in the folder from a previous installation.

it's just that i didn't want to extract it in the previous folder since i named it "meteor2beta1.31".

What do you mean? That shouldn't make a difference. I think you could just rename the folder to Meteor 2 or Meteor21.33Beta or whatever. Since the program's not installed and doens't make any registry entries and modifications, you could edit the directories and root structure to your heart's delight and the game will work fine (given that you still kind'a know what you're doing).

I wanted to keep the previous beta and to keep it simple i just extracted it with another name, and yes i know you can change the name without any registry problems, it works fine now and i can continue on my map =).

Makes sense.

Notes:

- Always check patch zip files for filenames which conflict with any files you have editied.
- The 1.33+ patch files contain this DLL (just for those that are not aware).
