I don't think this is worth the few bytes it will steal from the server and I'm sorry to bother you with this... but here it comes:

I'm not really a "new" owner and user of Meteor and understands most of the codes. I slipped (Murphy's law) into this site a few days ago and sucked up all info present by then. This didn't solve my problem. For you out here, this "problem" is just how to "get the tumb out of the but and get back to work". But for me: Aaargh! Before you go on reading, please: 1)Take a deep breath. 2)Calm down. 3)Promise you won't kill me. And 4)Don't throw out the monitor.

"How to make a new PCX image?" Currently I use the tile editor (16X16 only).
Yes I know, it must be a sign of stupidity! But please help me!
Pssst! I'm a Swede! Bor i ett hål kallat "Ardala", 7 km utanför Skara. Även det ett hål, men vi har Bert! Och bönder!

Try with paint shop pro or with Meteor sprite editor. You can create PCX files by going into sprite editor then clicking menu and then Exporting the image to a PCX file.
Now there you have a PCX file.

ok. i might have been joking when I told you to use the tile editor, but whatever. I personally use Micrografx PhotoMagic to make all my PC paintbrush files(.PCX). There is another free game in which you can make and export .pcx images. Its called paintball party and can be found at www.allegro.cc .I think its in the action catagory.

Heh! I'm sorry for spamming (I have asked for help about this on every post I've made) about this! Thanks a lot!

Does any of you know about "Wally"? Mainly used for Half-Life textures but it can also save as PCX. In the middle of my mailing spree, it hit me that it might work! Not to complicated and not for pros, but it was enough to repaint the A-10 to a more realistic look (maybe send it?) and some real weapons like: Mini Uzi, Glock 20, Galil ARM, PK, M76 (Romanian version of the Dragunov SVD sniper rifle).

I plan to make a mod about mercenaries. This because it doesn't need a good story. Mercs just hang around at a battlefield were money is (the player won't see any $$$) and travel to another on the other end of the globe when done: It doesn't have to make sense when they end up in a former Warzaw pact country just after battling some druglords in Colombia.
I plan to make weapons disappear after each map. The spawn point in the next one would then be a FARP (Forward Arming and Refueling Point,) were some weps and ammo is. In coop, it would be a good idea to share them in a tactical way, i.e one takes the MG, one grab a LAW, another one is sniper and then some riflemen. The only weapons I don't plan to reset is the Mini Uzi and the Glock. No weps would stay after picked.
Is this a good idea? Don't answer here, it's the wrong topic!

Don't worry about 'spamming'. Questions are what a forum's for! BTW, there is a way to remove weapons quite easily at the end of a level, but I suppose I can answer that at another topic.

The "itemdefs" way is the way I will use, but I like to know if there is another way.

I consider the PCX question spamming as it was on every early post from me. But, what the hell - I was on the edge, had plans to kill the whole world, nearly sold my soul to someone downstairs (oops, think I realy did that!)...

Yeah set the items in items.def to reset at each level start (obviously this should be a mod if you are changing the file).

That should sort your F.ART points (OK sorry about that, I could not help it).

The idea of a key/money/object -eating tile? Already forgotten? Already done in M2 ("key-eating sector"?)?

Sorry? You're the Moderator and can do what you want! Besides that: When I finally got it, I fell off the stol and hit my head, laughing like hell!!

Are you asking how to make key card powerups, like make the things you pick up in the game or how to pick up the cards in the game?

Well picking up the cards is easy, you just go over them an you should automatically pick them up.

it is ME... Every one wants my sprites, so I might make a additional page on meteormods.com for sprites. Which sprite is it that you wish to use?

I use the Microsoft Photo Editor, except there is one problem:
After i save the bmp files as PC paintbrush files, i then import them into meteor and the original colours of the pcx are screwed up, how do u overcome this:(

The same thing happened to me when I was making my mod, there is a simple fix, go to meteor and export a sprite of similar size, you need to remake the sprite because for some reason the pcx editor makes the colors you put down different, look at the picture in the gfxrs file after you saved exit the program and restart it).

You know, you should make a free sprite page, I could make a bunch of sprites that are free for use.

I was going to make a bunch of sprites but i never got to it.

The page should either be divided into categories. ie

Weapon mounts, weapon huds, wasted sprites, still and moving unit sprites, Sub bitmaps, outdoors, others etc.

Or alphabetical. So the Letter that you select will give you all the sprites thats name begins with that letter.

Id go with categories, that would be easier.
