The smell of tantalum capacitors fills the air. Ssh. Don't worry about that. Behind those frameworks there's another person sleeping. Some day the javascript will sleep too. 02 August 2008 21:46 (UK time) @Canuck: I don't think the forum will crash due to this little bug. Most date systems are like this: First of, server checks it's day&month by a function that returns an ID number, for example 1 for January, 2 for February etc... and then it's just a switch...case matter (or something similar). For some dark reason, the server confuses the two variables that store these ID numbers. But the forum won't crash as the switch...case function is basically like this: It looks at the desired value and then does some sort of checklist. For example, if the month ID number is 1, it sets the month name value to 'January etc... Plus, at the end there is also a default, an action to do when none of the values matches. When there is no default though, the function will do nothing, and the month name variable will stay Undefined. And about the post order: The server may not know any name for a '13th month' so the onth name will be Undefined but it doesn't look this either, it only looks at the ID. And as 13 is bigger than 12, it will appear at the very end of the topic. At least, that's my hypothesis. I'm not entirely sure it's like that but the chance is pretty big. But I don't think it's anything we should worry about. It's a very minor and easy-to-fix bug. I hope James notices this soon, because the post order for most topics is pretty screwed up now and it's confusing me. =D EDIT: Wow, that was one long explaination o_O This link is dead.
