Whenever I start a new game in Meteor, it shows the little thing that says "you are here", but when it should start the map, the game just crashes to the desktop. Can anyone help?

Hmm... I dunno. I would suspect that you maybe missing important data, and might need a new install of meteor. Do you have any more details than that? Any error messages or anything of that nature? or does it simply just exit out?

It just exits, nothing pops up.

Sounds like a problem with the Fblend light sourcing, this happens on some (generally older) computers and is a known problem with the Fblend library which is seamingly no longer maintained.

Meteor comes with 2 executables, run meteor_non_fblend.exe for the non-light sourcing version.

It is likely that future release of Meteor (and Meteor 2) will fix this problem by using a different rendering system.
